Best in Class for iPad Apps
Philips Healthcare honored Dynamic Digital with its Best in Class for iPad Apps Award for the XperGuide Virtual Medical Simulation eLearning tool.

The breakthrough
Philips Healthcare was the first company to take advantage of Dynamic Digital's innovative breakthrough in software engineering and design — the Virtual Medical Simulation (VMS) — for the XperGuide eLearning tool. With a rich virtual environment, dramatic visual design, extensive interactivity, and advanced custom simulation programming, Virtual Medical Simulation proved to be the next great advancement in digital training platforms. Unlike classroom instruction or traditional eLearning, VMS demonstrates the lesson in a visceral way and tests trainees by inviting them to try it themselves.
What we built
Dynamic Digital created an incredibly lifelike virtual lab and operating room environment, complete with 3D models of the Philips XperGuide and XperCT systems. Those systems were made functional for the simulation through advanced simulation animation and custom programming. Our team then built a custom administrative area so Philips could track usage and measure how well the tool helped medical professionals understand new equipment and procedures. We also developed a tablet-compatible version of the online application, giving users more flexibility in how they train.
Recognition
The XperGuide VMS eLearning tool was well-received by healthcare providers. It gave them a safe virtual environment to develop skills without the risks of clinical practice, while helping Philips anticipate significant cost savings versus traditional training. For these reasons — and the quality of the iPad app — Philips honored Dynamic Digital by awarding the XperGuide eLearning tool Best in Class for iPad Apps in 2011.
