Challenge
Acurian, a leading full-service provider of clinical trial recruitment services, wanted to be recognized as more than just a "database company" but rather as an organization that follows strategic processes initiated by an exceptional staff to deliver on the promise of guaranteed performance. DDA answered with a highly interactive video presentation featuring not one, but seven actors, explaining why Acurian is better than its competitors. DDA calls this effort a Point of View Presentation.
Objectives
DDA was tasked with the assignment of creating a video presentation that tells the complete story of Acurian: who they are, what they do, and what makes them different. The video was to complement and correlate with Acurian's established corporate identity and marketing themes, specifically emphasizing Acurian's three-way approach to clinical trial recruitment and enrollment: Process, People, and Performance. The presentation was to be versatile enough to be used not only at trade shows, but also formatted on DVD and disseminated as a promotional handout, and hosted on Acurian's corporate website.
Solution
To capture Acurian's full-service capabilities and start-to-finish approach to its offerings, DDA wrote seven scripts depicting seven unique character perspectives. Audiences hear why Acurian is the best choice for not only Clinical Trial Managers, but also Internal Patient Recruiters, Procurement Specialists, Clinical Trial Patient Candidates, and On-site Coordinators. Filmed on green screen, actors interact with screen shots, background images, charts, and custom illustrated images that reinforce pivotal points of the DDA-written scripts. The actors are framed by a highly stylized illustrated environment, custom-designed by DDA's staff of professional graphic artists. Furthermore, an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) makes video navigation effortless. Users have the choice to play all videos or pick and choose the character perspectives most relevant to them. Rollover teasers provide audiences with a brief video synopsis to aid users in the video selection process. Like Acurian, DDA's full-service capabilities meant all aspects of video production were handled in house, from scriptwriting and casting to Flash programming, video editing, and custom illustration.
Results
The compilation of videos succeeds in positioning Acurian as a multi-faceted organization dedicated to meeting and exceeding clinical trial recruitment benchmarks. Used in trade shows, as an online presentation, and as a promotional handout, the finished product is still viable today, years after its initial release.
